Artifacts
Projects
Concrete artifacts of the Living Architecture Lab. Each project corresponds to one of the five scales. Status ranges from concept (architectural framework only) through deployment (in the field).
Scale 01 · Brick · prototype
Myceliated Bricks
Myceliated cardboard bricks that fuse into igloos, arches, and vaults through fungal recognition.
"The brick is a vessel that builds vessels."
Scale 02 · Structure · design
Tater Tents
Sleeping shelters whose walls grow potatoes.
Scale 03 · Organism · concept
Macro-Ant Robotics
Living machines the size of small houses. ~90% living material, ~10% salvaged frame. Carry passengers who can leave at any time.
"The queen engineers scenarios; the workers solve them."
Scale 04 · Territory · design
Estuary Cells
Floating freshwater cells that hug the boundary between rivers and seas. Clean water without capturing it.
Scale 04 · Territory · design
River Extenders
Growing chains of freshwater systems extending from river mouths into seas, snaking toward inland depressions.
Scale 05 · Planet · concept
Garden Moon
A constellation of garden satellites woven by sky looms, each a small habitat with its own ecology.
Scale 05 · Planet · concept
Sky Looms
Orbital tethers used as center points around which to weave colossal DNA-strand double helices into the sky, the loom weaving garden satellites.
Detailed project pages are in development (Phase 2). For now this gallery indexes the project space organized by scale.
